The Lesaffre’s: Get to Know Us a Little More
When David and Leanne attend many events, meeting all the amazing individuals in our community, it eventually comes out that, yes, we are not only the owners but married to each other. This month, as we celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary, we thought we’d share just a snip-it of us with you. We’ve known each other literally our entire lives – hating each other as kids and growing it into a high school sweetheart relationship where we started dating at 16. At 21, we married and pursued our individual careers before welcoming our daughter and son. Despite us being so young (LOL), our daughter has also blessed us with our first granddaughter already.
We love working together in business, utilizing each other’s strengths to help our clients and look forward to doing it for years to come.
International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day
International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day was observed on November 23, 2024, a day dedicated to those that have lost a loved one to suicide. Being the Last Responders, we personally see the pain that is caused when someone elects to end their life. Per the 2023 Maricopa Medical Examiner Annual Report, the worst year for suicides in the county peaked in 2022. Programs dedicated to assisting ones in crisis continues to grow. We each have a human obligation to look out for one another and help where we can. In our role as the Last Responders, we are always here to help the survivors – friends and family – to at least get their space cleared of the incident scene because that should never be something they have as their last memory.
Arizona is a participant in the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline system.
AFCCA Annual Fall Mixer
We were once again very happy to be able to sponsor the Arizona Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Association’s Annual Fall Mixer this month held on the beautiful patio of Rustler’s Rooste restaurant looking over the entire Phoenix Valley. These amazing men and women have pure hearts in helping to provide loved ones their final resting needs.
The members of the AFCCA promote high ethical standards within the industry and advocate for death care professionals and the families they serve. We highly recommend using an AFCCA member funeral home or cemetery if you are ever in need because of their highly established ethical practices. Visit their consumer information page at azfcca.org for more information.
