A Lesson for Us All to Grow From

Has there been metaphor that just struck a chord with you because of its truthfulness? I heard this recently and simply had to pass it along to everyone because we all have something that we hold onto from our life that we can learn from.

Pain, suffering and loss can all be likened to a rock.  If you put a large rock in your pocket, you will know it's there and you feel the weight.  However, in time you become stronger and get used to carrying it.  

It never goes away. 

It doesn't get smaller. 

You just get stronger and more resilient because of it.

So, while that ‘thing’ we experienced doesn’t go away, it is something that we can each grow stronger from.

Many Arizonans strongly support the Second Amendment, valuing the right to bear arms as fundamental to personal freedom and self-defense.  As has been said in many a Spiderman movie though “with great power comes great responsibility”.  While accidents happen – that’s the very nature of the word – adhering to basic principles of gun safety can significantly reduce the risk of unintentional injuries or fatalities.

• Treat every gun as loaded

• Keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, away from people and animals\

• Finger off the trigger

• Use proper storage where the firearm is unloaded, locked and in a secure location

• Regularly clean and inspect firearms to ensure they function correctly.

Taking gun safety courses and ensuring all family members, especially children, are educated about gun safety rules is essential. By following these guidelines, gun owners can help prevent accidental discharges and promote a safer environment.  If an accident does occur where someone becomes injured, immediately contact 911.
